Relationships between soil absolute values the first sampling year (1 year after fire in Cabrera and Gátova; 3 years after fire in Teleno and Cortes), and the annual percentage change in vegetation variables between the 2 years of field sampling (1 and 2 years after fire in Cabrera and Gátova, 3 and 4 years after fire in Teleno and Cortes). Height was measured in cm as the mean maximum height per m2, total cover and the cover by growth forms and regenerative strategies were calculated as the mean percentage cover. Circle sizes are proportional to the absolute value of Spearman’s correlation coefficient (Rho-value). * indicates significant correlation (p < 0.05). A hyphen indicates that data are not available
